Building Site Transformer Substations

There are many high-voltage substations in operation, but only very few building-site transformer substations or emergency substations are IEC + DIN VDE tested. Yet such transformer substations are frequently situated in inner-city areas, often in areas with a lot of traffic. The possibility of internal arcing occurring in an untested substation cannot be excluded. Arcing represents one of the most severe operational disturbances that can occur in a substation. The hot gases, fire and flying debris represent a considerable danger to people in the vicinity, whether they are at work are just passing. Adjacent plant components are also at risk, even if they are not directly linked to the defect. Depending on the complexity of the process being supplied by the system, the cost of standstill time can account for an appreciable portion of the damage incurred. This concerns, in particular, the protection of the transformer substation used on a building site. As a service provider, we want to meet the requirements of our customers, and for this reason, we have developed and type-tested a substation that complies with the new international standard DIN EN 62271-202, and therefore offers the required level of safety on building sites for all those working at the site, and for people passing. Naturally, this type of substation is also suitable as a constant power supply solution. For export, prefabricated transformer substations are also fitted with air-conditioning.
